La Streccia
Their connection to Soglio and interest in historic buildings inspired Ugo and Elena Giacometti to acquire and restore a farmhouse and barn - owned by Elena's family for several generations - as well as to restore an abandoned smithy located nearby. The three buildings in Gassa d'la Streccia were opened to the public for the first time in 2017 with an open day. Since then, cultural activities, photo exhibitions and guided tours have been organized. Photographs are on display in the smithy, which is used as an exhibition space. The two-story building is accessible to the public from Easter to the end of October.
Opening hours and access
During the tourist season, the smithy is always open and freely accessible to the public. Caution and regard are requested. Children are allowed access only in the presence of an adult. Insurance is the responsibility of visitors; the owners disclaim any liability.
